MITCHELL BEADMAN will tune up for what he hopes will be a fruitful day at Randwick on Saturday with an early morning trackwork session alongside his father, the Hong Kong-based Darren Beadman.
Mitchell is apprenticed to Rosehill trainer Chris Waller who has engaged him to ride the resuming Rangirangdoo in the Jim Beam Handicap at Randwick.
Beadman will be having his first race ride on the promising galloper, which won four on the trot last campaign, this weekend.
“He worked good this morning and that was the first time I’ve sat on him,” the jockey said on Thursday.
“He has a good record and I expect him to race well fresh. Chris has done a good job with him.”
Beadman’s other rides at Randwick are Imagining (McGrath Estate Agents Handicap), also for Waller, and Louisianna Flyer (Bacardi Breezer Handicap) for Barbara Joseph. “They have both got chances so with any luck it will be a good day,” he said.
Darren Beadman said he will be in action at trackwork on Saturday morning for Waller.
“I’ll ride a few around,” he said. “I’m here in Sydney for a bit over a month while there is a break in Hong Kong.”
